About

The Unity Jazz Foundation, Inc. initially began in the year 2009 by Atlanta native, businessman, vocalist/ musician and jazz advocate, Stan Bryant, at that time, known as The Atlanta Jazz Association. Mr. Bryant was educated in the Clayton County, Georgia Public School system and contnued his studies in Special Education at Georgia State University. Mr Bryant's love for gospel and jazz music has afforded him many opportunities and explorations in both genres

After 10 years performing and traveling throughout the United States with the famed gospel ensemble, Atlanta Phiharmonic Chorale, Mr. Bryant eventually

envisioned a forum style platform where a small group of participants could meet, greet, educate, be educated and enlightened on topics regarding the jazz genre.

After receiving an epiphany on giving back to the community, Mr. Bryant began the process of forming the Unity Jazz Foundation. While networking and seeking advice from several "aficionados" in the jazz music industry, the initiative and vision of the Unity Jazz Foundation was finally coming to fruition.

Eventually, Mr. Bryant began the tedious and arduous process  to expand the vision of the Unity Jazz Foundation by submitting application to become a full- fledged non profit (501c3) corporation and increased the initiative by offering endowments, scholarships and awards to students of Jazz and Music & Arts programs in Metropolitan Atlanta Schools.

On August 26, 2014, The Unity Jazz Foundation, Inc. was recognized as a full Domestic Non-Profit Corporation.

In January 2016, Atlanta Public Schools (APS) recognized Unity Jazz Foundation for honoring Dr. Patricia Ford, Principal, Mr Jamont Lane, Director, and South Atlanta High School Jazz Ensemble as the 2016 Unity Jazz Endowment Award Recipients.

The Unity Jazz Foundation's main target demographic consist of all individuals who desire to raise their jazz consciousness through forums, workshops, masterclasses, education, community interaction, and artists performances.
